TCU is a national championship contender in 2010 and is 18-1 on the NCAA wagering line to win it all. It is not out of the question that the Horned Frogs could go unbeaten, and TCU will be preferred in NCAA lines in all of their matches this season.
NCAA betting lines prefer TCU in their starter as they host Oregon State on September 4th. The Horned Frogs will also be preferred the following week against Tennessee Tech. The only competition that TCU may be an underdog in would be late in the season at Utah but if the Horned Frogs are unbeaten going into that competition they would practically assuredly be favored, even on the road at Utah.
As they finished 5th in the nation in scoring, TCU was a juggernaut last season. They have 9 starters returning including quarterback Andy Dalton. The defense did lose Jerry Hughes and Daryl Washington however the Horned Frogs are still very great on that side of the ball.
Proceeding into the 2010 NCAA season, TCU has very few weak points. The key question on offense is at right tackle. If the Horned Frogs find a remedy at that spot they should genuinely roll on offense. The defense does want to get Tank Carder and Kris Gardner healthy at linebacker since that position is less strong than in previous seasons.
If Dalton does not turn the ball over, the Horned Frogs could go unbeaten this season. TCU is 25-1 when Dalton throws 1 interception or less in the last 29 matches. When he throws multiple interceptions they’re 0-2. When Dalton does not throw any interceptions the Horned Frogs are a perfect 22-0.
TCU has a really favorable schedule to make a run at a perfect season. They are going to be faced by Oregon State in the starter vs NCAA lines but that competition is in Arlington which is almost as near to a home game as you are able to get. If the Horned Frogs are to lose in any way it will probably come on the road and the only difficult road game comes late in the year at Utah. That competition could end up determining the Mountain West champion and a BCS bowl bid.
TCU is currently coached by Gary Patterson, who has been with the team for 9 years. He has accumulated 85 victories which sets him in second place on the TCU career win chart. He’s also the only coach in school history to have six 10-win years. The Frogs have earned a spot in the Final Top 25 7 times and the only year that his team didn’t reach a bowl match was 2004. Prior to accepting the position with TCU in December 2000, he was an assistant head coach at a number of different schools. He was titled the 2005 Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year. He even refused a job offer from Minnesota valued at over $2 million to remain at TCU. Last season he led the Frogs to a perfect 12-0 record.
